Overview

Trubai is an editorial-style travel platform designed to simplify how users discover Dubai’s experiences, attractions, and travel stories. The goal was to create a digital experience that combines the richness of a travel magazine with the usability of a modern discovery platform.

While travel websites often overwhelm users with excessive information and fragmented browsing experiences, Trubai focuses on creating a curated journey where users can easily explore destinations, discover activities, and consume travel content through a clean and engaging interface.

Simplifying Travel Exploration and Information Discovery

The primary UX challenge was helping international tourists quickly identify relevant experiences, venues, and travel information without feeling overwhelmed. With a wide range of attractions and activities available in Dubai, users often struggle to compare options and find experiences aligned with their interests.

Through user persona analysis, the focus was placed on travellers seeking premium experiences, curated recommendations, and reliable travel insights. The platform was structured around clear categories and editorial content to make exploration more intuitive.

Creating an Editorial Travel Experience

Trubai adopts an editorial design approach inspired by modern travel publications. Large imagery, strong typography, and structured content layouts were used to create a premium storytelling experience while maintaining ease of navigation.

The homepage introduces users to Dubai through curated experiences, trending attractions, and latest news. Instead of presenting information as a simple directory, the design transforms travel discovery into an engaging visual journey.

Organising Experiences Through Intuitive Content Hierarchy

A key design focus was creating a seamless way for users to browse different experiences. Categories were introduced to help users quickly filter attractions based on interests such as adventure, food, culture, entertainment, and landmarks.

The experience pages were designed to provide essential information at a glance while allowing users to explore detailed stories, highlights, galleries, and related recommendations. This balance helps users make informed decisions while maintaining a visually rich experience.

Designing for Premium Tourism Experiences

The visual language was crafted to reflect Dubai’s identity as a destination associated with luxury, innovation, and exploration. A clean layout, generous whitespace, and high-quality imagery were combined to create a sense of sophistication.

The design approach focused on making travel content feel aspirational while keeping interactions simple and accessible for international audiences.

Through Trubai, I explored how editorial design principles can enhance digital travel experiences by combining storytelling with practical discovery. By transforming travel information into a curated visual experience, the platform helps users discover Dubai in a more engaging, organised, and meaningful way.
